This is a web branding and catalog Art Director position with an emphasis on Home and Interiors. The Art Director will be familiar working directly with photographers for the purpose of shooting retail items. The Art Director is responsible for creative leadership and ownership of multiple projects and will coordinate with merchant and marketing teams to create innovative imagery and design for e-commerce and print catalog advertising; produce and attend photo shoots; have layout and design experience; and work closely with Senior Art Director to continually elevate brand advertising.
· Provide leadership to create visually distinctive and engaging imagery for the web and catalog
· Maintain the brand’s personality and style
· Execute photo shoots from start to finish, including hiring and managing outside creative resources (photographers, stylists, producers, set design, etc.) and attending/overseeing photo shoots to ensure stylist and photographer capture the look
· Utilize current and new systems to maximize efficiencies
· Articulate ideas and demonstrate a willingness to bring new ideas to the forefront frequently
· Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with strong interest in working with people
· Assure that all advertising guidelines and regulations are followed
· Exhibit attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
2+ years professional experience in Photo Art Direction, and Print Design
Degree in Visual Communication, Multimedia Design or a related course of study
Portfolio containing samples of home/interior art direction and design
Current with industry trends, emerging technologies and techniques
In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, with emphasis in Photoshop and InDesign
Knowledge in usability design, information design and content design
Self-motivated, excited about photography and interior design, able to work independently
Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage/lead photo teams
Able to successfully organize and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment with superior attention to detail
Excellent communication skills; ability to interface with marketing/merchant/development teams on a regular basis
