The Director of Construction will lead and manage a team of project managers for the development and construction of new stores, major/minor renovations, and capital improvement projects.


Job Duties

  • Negotiating capital improvement development requirements with developers and landlords.
  • Oversee the development and construction of new stores and major/minor renovations of existing stores by leading a team of in house project and site managers with outsourced professional architectural and engineering services.
  • Develop and manage project budgets.  
  • Partner with local jurisdictions to obtain entitlements and or conditions of development approval.
  •  Promote and contribute to the company’s vision and growth of the future.
  • Provide insightful leadership regarding the efforts of direct reports and project managers.

Job Requirements


  • Minimum of 10 years experience in leading and managing high-end retail or hospitality projects that involved the development of new locations and major/minor renovation projects.
  • Proficient in project development, from site selection to real estate negotiations to building schematic design through construction documents, bidding and construction administration.
  • BS, Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Construction Management or other related field preferred.
  • Architecture license a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and laws related to retail/hospitality improvements.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to travel out of town frequently.
  • Must be strategically flexible and agile.
  • Have exceptional teamwork and customer service skills.
  • Have strong positive written and oral communications skills.
  • Creative, self-initiating, forward thinking, proactive, action oriented and results driven.
  • Promotes and embraces positive change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
