Precious Jewelry Office Specialist
Office Specialists in the Precious Jewelry Division are responsible for the following tasks:
1. Process merchandise receipts (primarily jewelry), inter-store transfers, RTV’s, price changes, etc., in accordance with Merchandise Handling Standards, using the ICE inventory management system.
2. Set items up in the Ice System from information contained on a vendor invoice or consignment memo. Determine retail pricing using a chart of standard mark-up’s or an Excel-based spreadsheet calculator.
3. Photograph merchandise for inventory management purposes, and attach the photo to the data record for each style.
4. Ticket merchandise, ensuring the correct ticket with the correct retail price is placed on each item.
5. Open mail and unpack boxes received from vendors. (Boxes are generally under 20 lbs. in weight.) Prepare interpack boxes for outbound shipments, and place in consolidation area. Box shipments, packing to ensure merchandise will not be damaged in transit. Attach mailing labels.
6. Perform daily piece counts of the right safe to ensure the merchandise is physically on-hand. Perform full inventory scans at month-end, and during physical inventory taken semi-annually. Report variances to the Office Manager and Department Manager.
7. Time management is one of the key factors in this position. Having the ability to change gears quickly and then change back. Master basic tasks quickly and be able to stop to assist an associate with any customer related need with Customer Service as the Number 1 Goal and priority.
8. Maintain operational files in accordance with the Precious Jewelry File Retention Standard. Assist with supply maintenance.
9. Perform other special tasks or projects related to inventory processing and control, as assigned.
10. High productivity and accuracy are critical to the growing demands of our high volume salon.
To perform these tasks, the associate must have the ability to use a desk top computer and a mounted digital camera. They should be organized, and have the ability to focus on the task at hand. They must be able to effectively communicate with the Office Manager, Department Manager, Buyers, Assistant Buyers, and other Office Specialists on a daily basis, and be an effective team member. ICE System training will be provided.
