DESCRIPTION
To support our Buyer in daily business, product selection, vendor communications, and inventory management to achieve sales and gross margin targets, we are seeking an ambitious, experienced Assistant Buyer with great communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities include:
Compile and review financial data, ensuring accuracy for merchandising decisions
Oversee purchase order mechanics
Assist in the execution of marketing events and advertising processes
Supports vendor communications, ensuring proper receipt flow and tracking deliveries
Utilize merchandising system to appropriately manage product inventories
Communicate and partner with appropriate divisions to ensure proper information flow regarding deliveries, exclusives, product launches, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, ideally with a concentration in business, finance, fashion merchandising or other relevant area of study
A minimum of 1-2 years work experience (non-internship) as an Assistant Buyer (or equivalent job title) in a retail environment, preferably in luxury fashion
Strong analytical and organizational skills with ability to work well in an often deadline sensitive environment
Must be computer savvy with excellent MS Excel skills
Self starter with a passion for luxury brands and a strong desire to pursue a career in buying
